The Chicago Bears’ 2025 season ended in disappointment, and now the team is turning its attention to the offseason. One of the biggest questions is the future of wide receiver DJ Moore.

Moore, who signed a four-year, $110 million contract extension in 2024, could be a trade candidate, according to Sports Illustrated’s Tom Dierberger. While Moore had a strong finish to the season, the past two years with quarterback Caleb Williams have been underwhelming. He has 1,600 receiving yards over that span, a drop from his career-best 1,364 yards in 2023.

Chicago also has a promising group of young pass-catchers, including Rome Odunze, Luther Burden, and tight end Colston Loveland. With that depth, the Bears may consider Moore expendable.

Three teams could be interested in acquiring him: the Pittsburgh Steelers, Buffalo Bills, and New York Giants. The Steelers need a reliable No. 2 option behind DK Metcalf, while the Bills are looking for a steady partner for Khalil Shakir after Keon Coleman and Joshua Palmer underperformed. The Giants may need help behind Malik Nabers if they don’t re-sign pending free agent Wan’Dale Robinson.

Adding Moore would be a big upgrade for all three teams, but the Steelers are in the best position to absorb his contract, with an estimated $37.7 million in cap space. The Giants have $1.8 million available, and the Bills are $11.6 million over the cap. Still, if Moore is a priority, both the Giants and Bills could find a way to make the numbers work.

Chicago’s offseason decisions, especially regarding Moore, could reshape the team’s roster and influence the wide receiver market in 2026.
