The situation on Israel’s norther border, which it shares with Lebanon demands change, Israeli war cabinet member Benny Grantz said at a briefing Wednesday.
He warned that the time is running out to reach a diplomatic solution as the fighting continues between Israel and Hezbollah in the area.
“If the world and the Lebanese government do not act to cease the fire aimed at northern communities and push Hezbollah away from the border, the IDF will do so,” warned Grantz.
He also spoke regarding the military operations undertaken by Israel in Gaza. He said that the army began its operation with great force and should continue further increasing it. “The campaign will continue and expand according to the need across various locations or additional arenas.”
The tensions between Lebanon and Israel began when the latter declared war against Hamas militants in Gaza. The war came in response to Hamas’ attack on October 7, which resulted in killing of at least 1,200 Israeli civilians and more than 240 hostages were abducted.
