The serious allegations against rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs have finally caught up with him. He was arrested in New York on September 16 after nearly a year of investigations into various claims against him.
Diddy faces a slew of serious charges, including sex trafficking, racketeering, and facilitating prostitution. Right now, he’s being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where he’s awaiting his trial. Since his arrest, more disturbing details have emerged about him, including his alleged role in organizing drug-fueled sex parties, which have been infamously labeled “freak-offs.” He has pleaded not guilty to all charges and has been denied bail on two occasions. Reports from PEOPLE indicate that he is currently on suicide watch, according to an unnamed source.
It’s still unclear whether Diddy is genuinely suicidal. The source mentioned that his placement on suicide watch is more of a precautionary measure because he’s reportedly in shock and his mental health is uncertain. This means he will be closely monitored to prevent any potential self-harm.
Interestingly, the Metropolitan Detention Center is known for holding other high-profile inmates, including Jeffrey Epstein, the infamous financier who was arrested in 2019 for sexually abusing women and minors on his private island. Epstein was also put on suicide watch after his arrest but was able to take his own life in his cell on August 10, 2019. This has led to various conspiracy theories, with some people suggesting he was murdered to keep him from revealing the identities of his powerful friends, including former President Donald Trump.
Many can’t help but notice the similarities between Epstein’s situation and what’s happening with Diddy. Some even refer to this situation as “getting Epsteined,” which is a dark way to highlight concerns that Diddy’s life might be in jeopardy because he may know the names of other celebrities involved in similar wrongdoing.
Is this a real possibility? While it seems unlikely that history would repeat itself in such a direct manner, there’s a sense among the public that they want to see Diddy face justice. They hope his victims will have the opportunity to share their stories and seek accountability for the alleged crimes.
As it stands, we still don’t know if Diddy is truly suicidal; his being placed on watch is just a precaution for now. A date for his trial hasn’t been set yet, but he will remain in jail until he has his day in court.
