Exciting news for Marvel fans—Pedro Pascal has officially started filming for Avengers: Doomsday, one of the most talked-about upcoming Marvel movies. And thanks to a behind-the-scenes photo on Instagram, we’ve gotten our first peek at him in his Mister Fantastic suit!
Pascal, who’s also starring in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, shared a few casual photos of himself reading a book while on set. But fans were quick to notice something much more exciting than the book—just peeking out from under his clothes was what looked like part of his new Mister Fantastic costume. That little hint of blue fabric has sent Marvel enthusiasts into a frenzy.
While it’s not confirmed whether this is the final version of the costume we’ll see on screen, it definitely offers a clue about the new look the Fantastic Four might sport when they officially join the main Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), also known as Earth-616.
Pedro Pascal will star alongside Fantastic Four castmates Vanessa Kirby (Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn (Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Thing) in Avengers: Doomsday, which promises to be a huge crossover event. During the casting announcement, Pascal’s name was revealed moments before the surprise return of Robert Downey Jr.—not as Iron Man, but as a version of Doctor Doom. That reveal has sparked speculation that we might see a showdown between Reed Richards (aka Mister Fantastic) and Doctor Doom, which would be a major moment in the MCU.
Interestingly, the MCU’s version of the Fantastic Four is said to come from a retro-futuristic reality inspired by the 1960s. This throwback setting is expected to create some fun and possibly tense cultural differences when they finally meet the Avengers. What happens to the team after these big events—whether they go back to their universe or stick around in the MCU—is still up in the air.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters on May 1, 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on May 7, 2027. In the meantime, fans can enjoy Thunderbolts, now showing in theaters worldwide, featuring Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, and more of Marvel’s star-studded lineup.
