Kim Soo Hyun has sold one of his luxury apartments in Seoul’s Galleria Forêt complex. He completed the sale on July 3 and earned 8 billion KRW, which is around 6.15 million USD. He originally bought the apartment in 2014 for 3.02 billion KRW. This means he made a profit of nearly 5 billion KRW from the sale.
The timing of the sale raised questions because it happened shortly after advertisers filed lawsuits against him. Some people believed he sold the property due to financial pressure. However, sources close to him said the sale was planned in advance. They explained that the buyer had already been lined up since last year.
Kim Soo Hyun still owns two more apartments in the same complex. Both are large units. One of them was bought in 2013 and the other more recently in 2024. One of these apartments is under provisional seizure due to legal claims from companies that are suing him.
The lawsuits are linked to his ongoing controversy involving the late actress Kim Sae Ron. A YouTube channel and her family accused Kim of dating her while she was underage. Kim strongly denied the claims. He said their relationship only began after she became an adult and that it lasted for about one year.
Because of the scandal, some brands that worked with Kim have taken legal action. One company is demanding 3 billion KRW, and another is asking for 100 million KRW. These are said to be for damages caused by the negative impact on their brand image.
