Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle has finished five days of pre sales in China, and the response has been massive. The movie is now very close to breaking the pre sales record set by Suzume. This would make it the biggest pre sold non Chinese animated movie ever in the country. The only slowdown is that the advance booking pace dipped a little, but even then, the film is on track for a huge opening when it releases this Friday.

Many box office experts believe that once the movie actually hits theatres, the numbers could jump even higher. Some even say Infinity Castle might reach the one billion dollar mark worldwide. If that happens, it will be a huge moment for the franchise and will also boost future Demon Slayer movies.

Trade analyst Luiz Fernando reported that Infinity Castle has already earned thirteen point five million dollars in pre sales in China in just five days, from November thirteen to sixteen. There are still four more days of advance booking left. More than one lakh screenings have already opened for ticket sales, which is something no other non Chinese movie has ever done this early.

Here is how the pre sales look so far. Thursday previews brought in one point three million dollars. Friday, which is the opening day, made five point nine million dollars. Saturday added four point five million dollars. Sunday brought in one point seven million dollars. Together, the total is thirteen point five million dollars.

Suzume currently holds the record for the biggest pre sales by a non Chinese animated movie with seventeen point one million dollars. Infinity Castle is expected to cross that number by tomorrow. However, since the momentum has slowed a bit, it may not reach thirty million dollars in pre sales. It is more likely to end somewhere in the twenty million plus range.

Infinity Castle is also expected to have a massive opening weekend in China. The current prediction is between sixty million and ninety five million dollars. This puts it in a position to challenge Avatar The Way of Water’s fifty seven point one million dollar opening and Godzilla vs Kong’s sixty nine point two million dollar opening in China.

If it ends up on the higher side of the projection, Infinity Castle could become the second biggest opening weekend for a non Chinese film in China, right after Fast and Furious nine which opened with one hundred thirty six point one million dollars. It will definitely beat Suzume’s forty nine point nine million dollar debut even if it does not pass Avatar two or the top titles.
