Demi Moore may not have won the Academy Award for Best Actress this year, but she certainly handled her loss with grace and poise. In a recent interview with Time magazine, the 62-year-old actress shared that she had a premonition that Mikey Madison would win the Oscar for her role in Anora, a prediction she made moments before the award was announced. Moore, who was nominated for her standout performance in The Substance, mentioned she wasn’t devastated by the loss. In fact, she described feeling calm and centered as the ceremony cut to commercial just before the Best Actress category was revealed. “I just trusted,” Moore said, adding that she somehow knew the outcome.
When Madison’s name was called, it felt like the perfect end to a night where Anora had already taken home multiple major awards, including Best Editing, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Director for Sean Baker. The film’s eventual win for Best Picture only solidified the moment, and Moore was quick to congratulate her fellow nominee. On Instagram, she shared a message to Madison, saying, “A huge congratulations to Mikey Madison—can’t wait to see what you do next.” She called the journey an unforgettable experience, referring to it as “the ride of a lifetime.”
Despite the Oscars outcome, Moore was quick to embrace authenticity in her personal life. She shared a candid photo of herself enjoying fast food with her daughters, which was met with praise from her daughter, Scout LaRue Willis, who posted on Instagram, calling Moore “nothing but integrity, bright beaming light, and love.”
Currently, Demi Moore is staying busy filming the second season of Landman while preparing for her next big-screen role in Boots Riley’s I Love Boosters, continuing her illustrious career in both television and film.
