Studio Trigger has begun working on Season 2 of Delicious in Dungeon (Dungeon Meshi). There hasn’t been an official announcement on when Season 2 will be released yet, so stay tuned!
Delicious in Dungeon Season 2 was confirmed last June when Season 1 wrapped up, and production is still continuing through early 2026, with recent official updates encouraging fans that production is still going strong and to “be patient.”
Delicious in Dungeon Season 2: Release Date Speculation
It is expected that the 2026 premiere will occur either around mid-late 2026 or possibly before the end of January/early February 2027.
Anime productions of high quality, such as this particular series (i.e., Trigger’s monster/food animation detail and world building), typically take between 18 and 24 months or longer to complete. Season 1 (containing two courses; a total of 24 episodes) aired from January to June of 2024. Often, Trigger produces one very large project at a time; therefore, based on information currently available regarding their production schedule, there are no major producing/animating deadlines to be met before 2025. Based on updated information, it is reasonable to assume that the 2026 date mentioned above is realistic, as official dates are typically revealed 3–4 months prior to the scheduled release date.
As with Season 1, this new project will also stream on Netflix (worldwide) in the same manner as for Season 1 via a 14-day simulcast/simuldub schedule.
Delicious in Dungeon Season 2: Cast Details

Delicious in Dungeon Season 2: Story – What to Expect
There are no significant spoilers in this announcement, as the second season will pick up right where the first season left off.
Season 1 covered approximately 52 chapters of the source material (roughly half of the 97 chapters in the manga), including the Red Dragon arc and the first major exploratory dives into dungeons (vol. 1-8).
In contrast, the second season will cover the middle arcs of the manga that fans believe build substantial emotional impact, world-building, lore about the dungeon/Golden Kingdom, party dynamics, new allies/rivals (inclusive of Kabru’s group), battles, complicated ethics, darker subject matter along with the humorous monster-cooking theme and ecology aspect of organisms used for cooking. In addition, there will be significant growth in parties as the character of Izutsumi is fully incorporated into the group; more exploration of the various secrets that exist within the dungeon, including the Lunatic Magician; and escalating stakes pertaining to resurrection, ancient magic, and what the true nature of the dungeon is.
The overall tone is consistent with previous seasons: adventure, comedy, fantasy cooking, and emotional connections in a world inspired by Dungeons & Dragons, in which they use monsters to eat and save Falin.
