“Deadpool & Wolverine,” the year’s second-highest-grossing film, will be available for streaming on Disney+ on November 12. The announcement came via a sizzle reel showcasing Marvel’s upcoming projects for the next year.
The film has grossed over $1.3 billion globally, surpassing “Barbie” to become the 12th-highest-grossing North American release in history. Notably, it also holds the title of the highest-grossing R-rated movie ever.
Directed by Shawn Levy, the film follows Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) as he navigates chaos brought on by the Time Variance Authority, leading him to join forces—albeit begrudgingly—with Wolverine (Hugh Jackman). This marks the first Marvel Cinematic Universe film featuring characters previously licensed to 20th Century Fox.
The film is packed with a plethora of cameos, including Chris Evans reprising his role as Johnny Storm, Jennifer Garner as Elektra, and even Nathan Fillion voicing Headpool. With appearances from MCU veterans like Jon Favreau’s Happy Hogan and the Hulk, the film is a nostalgic treat for fans.
Alongside “Deadpool & Wolverine,” Marvel’s 2024 slate includes new live-action series such as “Daredevil: Born Again” and animated projects like “Marvel Zombies.” This release is a testament to Marvel’s commitment to expanding its universe with beloved characters and fresh storytelling.
