In the May 5, 2025 episode of Days of Our Lives, EJ reflects on the night he was shot and seeing his son, Johnny. Chanel then confronts EJ about the failed adoption, blaming him for Johnny’s identity crisis. EJ apologizes and asks how he can make things right, but Chanel accuses him of taking away Johnny’s happiness and says they’ll never stop hating him.
Later, Marlena tells Chanel how sad Johnny has been and how much he loved her. Chanel admits she loved Johnny too but feels deeply hurt by him.
Marlena advises EJ to give Johnny space and questions if EJ thought Johnny had actually shot him. EJ insists Johnny would never do that and asks Marlena to tell Johnny he’ll always be there for him, no matter what.
Chanel then meets Johnny, still angry but wanting to talk. She says she understands where he’s coming from but that Johnny needs time to accept that he didn’t want to adopt or be a father. Johnny thanks Chanel for understanding and asks for forgiveness, but she says she’s not ready yet. Johnny promises to do whatever it takes to make things right.
Meanwhile, Steve and Shawn plan to steal a drug from Dr. Russell to help Bo, suggesting they involve Kayla since she loves Bo but wouldn’t want to break the law.
Later, Shawn tells Johnny about Bo’s serious condition and the lack of treatment options. Johnny admits that learning what EJ did hurt him deeply and affected his marriage. Shawn advises Johnny to give Chanel space and reminds him that parenting is a full-time job.
