Damarian Landry: Oak Hills showed out at California Live 2025, going undefeated and leaving with a championship, all thanks to breakout star Damarian “Mar” Landry. The 6-foot-6 forward didn’t just put up numbers; he delivered one of the most jaw-dropping dunks of the summer, a monster put-back slam that turned heads and lit up social media.
Landry dropped 30 points in the title game, leading Oak Hills to a gritty 68-66 win over a tough Oakland Tech squad. The Bulldogs trailed late but found a way to finish strong and seal the win. That final victory capped a perfect 4-0 run through the Game One Sports bracket, with earlier wins over Mira Mesa, Arcadia, and Berkeley.
Even with some key seniors graduating earlier this year, Oak Hills hasn’t missed a beat. This event proved that the future is very much alive, with Landry at the heart of it. Coming off a season where he averaged nearly 15 points and over 10 rebounds per game, he’s already been labelled as one of the top junior prospects to watch in California. A ton of Division I coaches were there watching closely, and it’s safe to say they liked what they saw.
Landry wasn’t alone, either. Returning players like Jeremiah Lark and Mo Rios also made noise as underclassmen who helped the Bulldogs shine last season. And even though Oak Hills said goodbye to standout seniors Ashton McCullough and Mark Jones III, they’re clearly not slowing down.
The Bulldogs went 25-5 last season, swept the Mojave River League, and had a solid playoff run, and with guys like Landry stepping up, they’re shaping up to be a serious problem again in 2025–26.
