Cruz Beckham has spoken out about new rumors surrounding tension in the Beckham family. He clarified that his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, did not unfollow their eldest son Brooklyn on Instagram. According to Cruz, it was Brooklyn who blocked them first.
On Saturday, December 20, the 20-year-old musician addressed claims online suggesting a family fallout. He posted on Instagram Stories and said the reports were false. He wrote that his parents would never unfollow their own son. He then added that they woke up to find they had been blocked. Cruz said the same thing happened to him as well.
As of December 21, Brooklyn is not following any immediate family members on Instagram. This includes his parents, his brothers Romeo and Cruz, and his sister Harper. The rest of the family also does not follow Brooklyn. His wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, is also not following David or Victoria, or Brooklyn’s siblings, and none of them follow her either.
Brooklyn has not reacted publicly to Cruz’s statement. David and Victoria have also stayed silent. A spokesperson for Victoria later told PEOPLE that Cruz was only responding to incorrect stories claiming his parents had unfollowed Brooklyn, which was not true.
Cruz made it clear he did not want false stories spreading about his family. He shared screenshots of media reports and stressed that the online narrative was wrong. According to him, the family only realized something was off after noticing they had been blocked.
Speculation about tension in the Beckham family is not new. In May, a source told E! News that issues may have started around Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding in April 2022. The insider claimed there was confusion during the first dance moment when Marc Anthony unexpectedly called out Victoria Beckham instead. Brooklyn was reportedly caught off guard, and Nicola was said to have left the room in tears before returning later.
Despite ongoing rumors, Brooklyn has suggested he is focused on his marriage. In a September interview, he said negativity will always exist but added that he feels lucky to have a very supportive wife. He said they keep their heads down, stay out of the spotlight, and are happy.
