The tension within the Beckham family seems to be getting worse, and now it looks like Cruz Beckham may have thrown some subtle shade at his older brother, Brooklyn Beckham.
For a while now, Brooklyn — the eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham — has reportedly not been on the best terms with his family. Recently, things heated up when Brooklyn shared a post saying he “always chooses” his wife, Nicola Peltz, seemingly highlighting that his loyalty lies with her over his family.
Not long after, Cruz took to his Instagram story and posted a heartfelt message along with a picture of himself with his parents and siblings — notably excluding Brooklyn and Nicola. In the post, Cruz wrote, “I love my family, I love you guys more than anything. Mum and Dad, you gave us life and cared for us no matter what. I can’t tell you how blessed we all are to have you in our lives.”
This message was seen by many as a way of showing appreciation for their parents and family unity — and maybe a gentle reminder to Brooklyn about the value of family.
The photo Cruz shared was from Paris Fashion Week, where the entire family came together to support Victoria as she walked the runway. Again, Brooklyn and Nicola were missing from this family moment, adding to the speculation about their distance from the rest of the Beckhams.
Meanwhile, Brooklyn had earlier shared a romantic moment with Nicola — a photo of them riding off on a motorbike early in the morning — with the caption, “I always choose you.” To some, this looked like a subtle response to ongoing family drama.
According to reports, the Beckham family has tried to mend things with Brooklyn, including making efforts before attending the TIME100 Impact Dinner, but it seems the rift hasn’t healed just yet.
That said, the whole family (minus Brooklyn and Nicola) was seen together at Victoria’s 50th birthday party last month. David and Victoria shared joyful photos and videos from the celebration, showing everyone else looking close and happy — but the absence of Brooklyn and Nicola didn’t go unnoticed. They also skipped David’s own milestone birthday celebration earlier this month.
All this has led many to believe that the cracks in the Beckham family’s relationship — especially between Brooklyn and the rest of the clan — might be deeper than they appear.
