She shared a clip of the conversation between the grandfather and grandson and accompanied it with a throwback photo of herself with the late Princess of Wales as an Instagram story.

The scene Crawford captured from the show occurs in episode 5 of the final season. It depicts Prince William encountering his grandfather during a surprise visit to his dorm room at Eton.

In a fictional portrayal, the show suggests that William had adorned his wall with pictures of supermodels like Crawford, Naomi Campbell, and Claudia Schiffer. Prince Philip, portrayed by Jonathan Pryce, finds these photos and, in a bid to ease the tension, casually asks about the models, mentioning the iconic stars of his era.

Crawford also used her Instagram platform to pay tribute to Princess Diana, reposting a photo of herself with the late Princess on the 20th anniversary of Diana’s passing in 2017. In her heartfelt caption, she recalled Diana’s initiative to reach out to her personally, inviting her for tea at Kensington Palace, aiming to surprise her sons, William and Harry. Crawford remembered Diana as a down-to-earth, modern-day princess and paid respects to her.

The show’s final season of “The Crown” commences with Diana’s tragic death and navigates the emotional turmoil experienced by her family and the nation upon learning the devastating news.

Reflecting on the tragic incident, the car accident in Paris on August 31, 1997, claimed the lives of Diana and her boyfriend, Dodi Fayed, with reports indicating they were attempting to evade paparazzi when the accident occurred. Both Dodi and the driver died instantly, while Diana passed away later in the hospital, as recounted by PEOPLE.
