Chris Brown was arrested in Manchester, England, on Thursday morning, suspected of causing grievous bodily harm. This arrest is connected to an incident from February 19, 2023, at the Tape London nightclub in Hanover Square, where he allegedly assaulted music producer Abe Diaw.
According to reports, Brown is accused of hitting Diaw on the head with a tequila bottle (specifically a Don Julio 1942) and then stomping and kicking him, which caused Diaw to lose consciousness for about 30 seconds. Diaw sustained serious injuries, including head lacerations and torn ligaments in his leg, requiring hospitalization.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that detectives from the Central West Area Basic Command Unit are leading the investigation. Chris Brown was detained at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester and remains in custody.
This is not Brown’s first arrest—he has faced multiple legal issues over his 20-year career.
