Pop innovator Charli XCX has officially revealed the highly anticipated list of collaborators for her upcoming remix album, Brat and It’s Completely Different but Also Still Brat, set for release on October 11. Following a wave of global fan excitement, sparked by mysterious billboards in major cities, the Brat remix promises to be an exhilarating reinvention of her already critically acclaimed album, Brat, which debuted in June.

Leading the pack of superstar features is Ariana Grande, who confirmed her contribution to the album through a social media post showcasing poignant lyrics from one of her tracks on the project:

“It’s a knife when they dissect your body on the front page / It’s a knife when they won’t believe you / Why should you explain?

The powerful words have already stirred conversation, further heightening anticipation for the release.

The remix album boasts an impressive roster of talent, with additional collaborations from big names across various genres. Fans can look forward to contributions from Bon Iver, Tinashe, Julian Casablancas (The Strokes, The Voidz), The 1975, Bladee, BB Trickz, Caroline Polachek, Shygirl, Jon Hopkins, and The Japanese House. Each of these artists will bring a unique flavour to reworked versions of Brat singles, infusing new life into the pop sensation’s original tracks.

Among the most exciting remixes are “Von Dutch A. G. Cook Remix Featuring Addison Rae,” “360 Featuring Robyn and Yung Lean,” “Girl, So Confusing Featuring Lorde,” “Guess Featuring Billie Eilish,” and “Talk Talk Featuring Troye Sivan.” These remixes follow the enormous success of the original Brat album, which not only became a commercial triumph but also left a significant cultural imprint—impacting everything from fashion trends to Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign.

The remix album’s buildup began when lime green billboards appeared worldwide, teasing the project’s contributors. In the process, fans were tricked by some viral, photoshopped billboards promoting fake collaborations, including supposed features from Rosalía and internet personality Trisha Paytas. However, Charli XCX cleared up the rumours by posting a collage of the genuine billboards on social media, officially putting an end to the speculation.

As Charli XCX gears up for the release of her remix album, she’s simultaneously embarking on the “Sweat” tour with Troye Sivan, which will hit arenas across North America. One of the most anticipated stops will be at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum on October 15, where fans can expect bold performances and possibly even a live preview of the Brat remixes.

In addition to the album’s release and her tour, Charli XCX is also generating buzz with her submissions for the 2024 Grammy Awards. Her continuous boundary-pushing approach to pop music has cemented her as a leader in the genre, and this next chapter—Brat and It’s Completely Different but Also Still Brat—seems set to further solidify her visionary legacy.

Fans are eager for the album’s release and the surprises it holds, as Charli XCX once again proves that she is a force to be reckoned with in the pop landscape.
