Character.AI, the popular chatbot app, is getting a big update. The app now has a social feed where users can share videos, images, and even let others talk to their AI avatars. This makes the app feel more like a social network instead of just a private chat space. People can now post their custom bots or show off fun and interesting chats they’ve had with the AI.
The update was announced on Monday. Along with the feed, users also get to try out a tool called AvatarFX. It lets them turn text or images into AI-made videos, which they can then post on the feed for others to see.
Character.AI’s CEO, Karandeep Singh, said the new feed is meant to blur the line between who creates and who watches. He explained that people can scroll through and enjoy what others have made, or they can jump in and start creating their own stories too.
This isn’t the first time the feed has appeared. It showed up on Character.AI’s website back in June. The idea of social AI isn’t brand new either. Meta’s AI app already has a similar feature where people can browse through other users’ AI chats and creations.
It looks like more AI apps are starting to move in this direction. What used to be a one-on-one experience is slowly turning into a shared, social space. It’ll be interesting to see which app tries this next.
