Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc is struggling at the North American box office this Halloween. The anime started strong last Friday but has now lost the number one spot to Black Phone 2.

The movie is still one of the top-grossing anime films in North America. It has already surpassed Ne Zha 2 and is chasing Dragon Ball movies. Right now, it is tracking around 30 million dollars in total earnings in the region.

On its second Friday, the film dropped sharply. Box Office Mojo reports it made only 1.3 million dollars. That is about an eighty-five percent drop from its opening Friday. With this, the movie’s total in North America is now 26.1 million dollars.

The anime is expected to make between 4.5 and 5 million dollars over its second weekend. Even with this, it will fall short of Dragon Ball: Super Broly’s 30.7 million dollar lifetime total. This means it will have to wait before becoming the sixth-highest-grossing anime movie ever in North America.

The slowdown in North America could affect its global earnings since this market is very important. Still, Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc has been a hit overall. The movie was released in North America on October 24.
