Cardi B is gearing up for the release of her highly anticipated second album, promising fans a fresh sound and some exciting collaborations. During a live conversation on X Spaces on March 31, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper shared teasers about the album, revealing that it will include “lots of features” from both new and familiar artists.
This upcoming project will be her first full album since Invasion of Privacy in 2018, which catapulted her to stardom with massive hits like “Bodak Yellow,” “I Like It,” and “Drip” featuring Migos. Cardi described her sophomore album as a departure from her past work, hinting at a new vibe that she believes isn’t like anything else out there. “I just don’t think what I got is out there,” she stated.
While details remain under wraps, Cardi confirmed that she’s collaborating with artists she’s worked with before, as well as some new names. Fans can also expect to hear some of the unreleased music Cardi had teased on social media in March 2024, where she excitedly shared that she had a collection of 100 unreleased songs ready for the album.
Not letting external pressures hold her back, Cardi also made it clear that she’s committed to releasing music on her own terms. “If I do a song, I’m gonna just f—ing drop it,” she declared in one of her Instagram stories.
The rapper, who has already dropped a series of hit singles like “Up,” “WAP” with Megan Thee Stallion, and “Finesse” with Bruno Mars, is excited to bring her fans something new. In addition to the album, Cardi also confirmed that merch would be dropping alongside it. Fans can’t wait to hear what she has in store when the album finally drops.
