Call of Duty Warzone Mobile will officially go offline on April 17, 2026. Activision confirmed the news in a recent statement. The mobile battle royale will shut down just 2 years after its global launch.
Warzone Mobile first released on March 21, 2024 for iOS and Android. The game brought popular maps like Verdansk and Rebirth Island to mobile devices. Many classic weapons and features also returned. Fans were excited to play Warzone on the go.
In its first few days, the game generated nearly 1.5 million in revenue. Including early access regions, that number reached around 2.2 million. As a free to play title, the money came from in game purchases and microtransactions.
Warzone Mobile shutdown date and reason
Despite a strong start, Warzone Mobile never reached the level of Call of Duty Mobile. The 2019 title crossed 100 million downloads within days of release. It also reportedly earned double the revenue of Warzone Mobile early on.
Call of Duty Mobile is still receiving seasonal updates 6 years later. Warzone Mobile, however, struggled to maintain the same momentum.
Activision previously announced it would end major support for the game in 2025. The title was removed from the App Store and Google Play on May 18, 2025. Only players who had already downloaded it could continue playing. No new content updates were released after that point.
Now Activision has confirmed that servers will fully shut down on April 17, 2026. After that date, the game will no longer be playable.
Call of Duty Mobile future and Warzone updates
In its statement, Activision thanked players and developers who supported Warzone Mobile. The company also made it clear that Call of Duty Mobile will remain its main focus for mobile gaming.
Players looking for a similar experience can continue playing Call of Duty Mobile for free. The main Warzone title is also available on console and PC.
Recently, both Warzone and Black Ops 7 received a large Season 2 update. New multiplayer maps, weapons, a fresh Battle Pass, and an updated Rebirth Island were added. Activision has also teased a Season 2 Reloaded roadmap, which is expected soon.
While Warzone Mobile is coming to an end, the broader Call of Duty franchise continues to expand across platforms.
