On July 5, BTS’ V surprised fans by going live on Weverse from his bed, casually chatting in the early morning hours. The unexpected broadcast felt deeply personal, as V opened up about a shift in his sleep habits since completing his mandatory military service. The live session showed a softer, more vulnerable side of the singer, revealing just how much his time in the military may have changed his body’s rhythms.
V, who was known for being able to sleep anywhere, anytime, shared that even the slightest noise now wakes him up. He described how a cleaning staff member briefly entered his hotel room, and the sound was enough to fully wake him. He admitted that he never used to be like this, attributing the change to his recent military discharge. This small moment sparked concern among fans, as many were surprised to hear that someone who once slept so deeply could now be so easily disturbed.
The change also highlighted the lingering impact military life can have, both physically and mentally. Training, strict schedules, and constant alertness often condition soldiers to be light sleepers. For V, this seems to have carried over into civilian life, especially as he adjusts back into a global schedule and high-profile public events.
V’s moment of honesty reminded fans of a 2021 BTS group interview, where leader RM jokingly said that V “sleeps with his eyes open.” At the time, it was a lighthearted take on how deeply he could rest, something fans now hope he can return to. With his schedule ramping up—especially his appearance at Paris Fashion Week for Celine—the ARMY is hoping V gets the peace and deep rest he once easily found.
