After serving their country for 18 months, BTS members RM and V were officially discharged from South Korea’s military service on June 10, 2025. Their return was met with overwhelming joy and celebration from fans all over the world. The long-anticipated reunion marked their first public appearance since enlisting, and it was nothing short of emotional and heartwarming.
The main event took place early in the morning at Sports Park in Sinbuk-eup, Chuncheon, nestled in Gangwon Province. Despite the early hour, hundreds of BTS fans—known as ARMYs—gathered from far and wide to welcome the duo. The park was alive with excitement, as fans waved banners, light sticks, and held up messages of love while balloons floated through the sky. The energy was pure celebration, and the atmosphere felt more like a festival than a military discharge.
When RM and V finally stepped out in their military uniforms, they looked stronger, more refined, and still every bit the global icons fans remember. Their warm smiles and humble demeanor made the reunion even more special. Fans lovingly pointed out how their military service seemed to make them even more charming, with jokes about the “military glow-up” quickly spreading online.
The heartwarming moments didn’t stop there. The two members were greeted with grand flower bouquets and thanked their fans with deep sincerity. But the surprise highlight of the morning? RM’s unexpected saxophone appearance. In a playful nod to Jin’s discharge last year—where RM had also brought the instrument—he treated everyone to another brief performance. The quirky moment added laughter and warmth to the event and reminded fans of BTS’ signature fun-loving spirit.
During their service, RM was stationed in the 15th Infantry Division as part of the military band, where he contributed musically at official events. True to his role as BTS’ thoughtful leader, he fulfilled his duties with dedication. V, on the other hand, opted for a more intense role by serving in the Special Task Force of the Military Police under the 2nd Corps. His unit is known for its high standards and physical demands, and V’s successful completion of service earned admiration from fans and military personnel alike.
Now that their military chapters are complete, RM and V are set to resume their careers. RM is expected to continue producing music, both solo and with BTS, while V—whose creative passions include singing, acting, and visual arts—may explore diverse projects. Their return signals a fresh start not only for them but also for BTS as a whole.
With Jin, J-Hope, RM, and V now discharged, the spotlight turns to the remaining three members—Jimin, Jungkook, and SUGA—who are all set to finish their service later this month. The excitement is building, and a full BTS reunion is finally within reach.
Meanwhile, ARMYs across the globe are overflowing with emotions. Social media has exploded with videos, photos, edits, and heartfelt tributes dedicated to RM and V’s return. The online celebration reflects just how deeply fans have missed them and how eagerly they’re counting down the days until BTS is complete once more.
