BTS marked a major milestone in their post-military chapter with the release of their first-ever live album, Permission to Dance on Stage– Live, on July 18, 2025. This album holds special significance for both the group and their global fanbase—it’s the first collective musical project since all seven members completed their mandatory military service the previous month. While currently stationed in Los Angeles to work on their much-anticipated 2026 comeback album, BTS decided to surprise ARMY with a nostalgic gift. This live album offers a rich, immersive way to relive some of their most electrifying performances from the Permission to Dance on Stage tour.
The album features 22 tracks recorded live across various legs of the tour held in Seoul, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas from 2021 to 2022. Songs like Black Swan, Dynamite, Butter, Permission to Dance, ON, IDOL, and Blood Sweat & Tears anchor the collection, each delivering a reminder of BTS’ versatile artistry and commanding stage presence. Also included are fan-favorites like Spring Day, Life Goes On, FAKE LOVE, Boy With Luv (feat. Halsey), and So What, among others. These songs capture the emotional highs, raw energy, and deep connection the group shares with their fans during live shows.
The album is available in three versions—Contact, Connect, and Set (with an exclusive Weverse Shop gift). Each physical edition comes bundled with special items like exclusive photo cards, a 92-page photobook packed with behind-the-scenes moments, and interview snippets that spotlight the members’ camaraderie and reflections. Buyers also get a 141-minute digital video code that unlocks high-quality VOD content from the final three Seoul concerts held at the Jamsil Sports Complex in 2022. This feature allows fans to virtually attend the performances, complete with crowd reactions and the kind of atmosphere that only BTS concerts can deliver.
For those who couldn’t purchase the album, BTS offered an inclusive alternative by hosting a global listening party on Weverse. Fans who have a Spotify Premium subscription were able to stream the album during the event, creating a communal space to enjoy the music together. The initiative reflects BTS’ continued commitment to their fans, ensuring that everyone, regardless of location or means, has a chance to participate in their ongoing musical journey.
