A South Korean bus driver has recently captured the hearts of many online with his unique mix of daily work and personal passion. While he spends his days driving passengers around, in his free moments, he transforms into a cheerful content creator, filming short dance covers of K-pop songs. His recent dance to BTS member J-Hope’s new song Killin’ It Girl went viral and even caught the attention of the BTS members themselves.
The bus driver, who goes by @mikistyle on Instagram, often parks his empty bus by the roadside and records fun dance reels. Even though he’s not a professional dancer, he enjoys following the latest K-pop trends and putting his own spin on them. His performance to Killin’ It Girl was filled with energy and sincerity, which clearly touched many viewers.
What happened next was something he never expected. His dance challenge video reached BTS’s J-Hope and Jimin. Both idols reshared his video on their Instagram stories, surprising fans and the bus driver himself. J-Hope even added laughing emojis to show how much he enjoyed the adorable and heartfelt version of his choreography. This unexpected moment of recognition from global superstars was celebrated by fans around the world.
The bus driver was deeply moved by this gesture. On July 1, he posted two new videos to express his gratitude to Jimin and J-Hope. His message to J-Hope, in particular, was heartfelt and emotional. He shared how overwhelmed he felt, saying that he cried tears of joy after seeing J-Hope’s Instagram story. In his message, he described himself as “just a humble Korean bus driver who dances between bus stops,” but said that, because of J-Hope, he felt like he was dancing on a world stage.
He continued by calling J-Hope “the sunshine of BTS” and thanked him for becoming “the sunshine of [his] story.” The bus driver went on to say that Hobi, known as “the hope of millions,” had given him hope as well—encouraging him to keep dancing and to continue spreading happiness through his videos.
Fans were touched by the exchange and admired how something as simple as a dance challenge could create such a meaningful moment between everyday people and world-famous artists.
