A heartfelt new project by BTS’ SUGA (Min Yoongi) has come to light, showcasing the rapper-producer’s deep commitment to using his influence and success for meaningful change. The “Min Yoongi Treatment Center”, a specialized medical facility aimed at helping children and young adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), has officially been unveiled—marking one of the most personal philanthropic steps in the artist’s career.

The use of his romanized name “Min Yoongi” instead of the Hangul spelling “Min Yunki” has drawn warm attention from fans, who believe the choice was intentional to make it instantly recognizable to BTS ARMY worldwide. The facility, reportedly funded with an investment of over 5 billion KRW (around 3.64 million USD), stands as part of the Seoul branch of the well-known Severance Hospital chain.

Reports reveal that SUGA’s idea for the treatment center stemmed from his personal interactions with children on the autism spectrum. The artist had been visiting and spending time with them incognito, often introducing himself simply as “Professor Min.” He would bring his guitar along and use music to communicate and connect — a gesture that profoundly inspired his vision to build a center focused on music-based therapy and social development.

The MIND program — the core of the treatment center — combines music therapy, group interaction, and diversity-based activities to support social skill development for those on the spectrum. The approach reflects SUGA’s own belief in music’s power to heal and unite, something he has repeatedly emphasized throughout his career.

Interestingly, the Severance Hospital holds personal significance for the artist. It was where SUGA reportedly received treatment for appendicitis, during which he wrote the BTS hit “Just One Day.” That experience, paired with his long-standing empathy for children facing challenges, ultimately inspired him to collaborate with the hospital’s Pediatric Psychiatry Department to make this vision possible.

With the Min Yoongi Treatment Center now open, SUGA continues to expand his legacy far beyond the stage — transforming his compassion into tangible action. The center stands not just as a symbol of generosity, but also as a reflection of the artist’s lifelong belief in using music as a bridge for healing and human connection.
