BTS has reaffirmed their global dominance with the release of their first official live album, Permission To Dance On Stage. Dropped on July 18, the album made an explosive impact, earning 14.5 million streams on Spotify within its first 24 hours. This achievement set a new platform record for the biggest debut by a live album, overtaking the previous record of 8.8 million streams held by Beyoncé’s Homecoming. The overwhelming response highlights BTS’ unmatched streaming power and the enduring loyalty of their global fanbase.
The album captures 22 electrifying live performances from BTS’ 2021–2022 Permission To Dance On Stage world tour. With powerful renditions of fan-favorite tracks like Dynamite, Butter, and Life Goes On, the album delivers the immersive energy of a BTS concert directly to listeners. Each track preserves the raw emotion and stage charisma that have defined BTS as one of the world’s most captivating live acts.
Accompanying the audio release is a digital concert special, Permission To Dance On Stage – Seoul, featuring performance footage from their March 13, 2022 show at Seoul Olympic Stadium. This visual experience offers fans a front-row seat to one of the group’s most heartfelt performances in their home country. Alongside the concert film, a 92-page photobook filled with candid behind-the-scenes images, personal reflections, and interviews further deepens the connection between the band and their fans, offering an intimate glimpse into the world behind the stage.
The live album’s release also aligns with a momentous chapter in BTS’ journey. On July 1, the group reunited on-screen for the first time since all members completed their mandatory military service. The surprise Weverse livestream was emotional and heartwarming, as the seven members—RM, Jin, SUGA, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook—sat side by side, laughing and catching up with fans in real time.
During the livestream, BTS confirmed plans for a highly anticipated comeback in spring 2026, alongside a full-scale world tour. This announcement sent excitement rippling through the ARMY fandom worldwide, marking the beginning of a new era for the group. With their powerful return on the horizon, BTS continues to prove that their influence isn’t just intact—it’s growing stronger with every move.
