BTS may be going through changes with members entering and leaving the military, but leader RM proves that their bond with each other and with fans remains just as strong. One of his most viral moments came earlier this year when he played the saxophone at Jin’s discharge ceremony. RM admitted in his Harper’s Bazaar Korea interview that he wanted to be funny, and though his skills weren’t perfect, he was happy fans laughed and enjoyed it. For him, moments like these are reminders of why he keeps going — because of the fans who have stood by him all these years.

RM also opened up about his dynamic with the rest of BTS, sharing stories that show both his role as a leader and his well-known “Destruction King” reputation. Before enlistment, he often started group talks with “Guys, I have something to say, gather around.” But now, his words have shifted to simple check-ins like “Aren’t you guys tired?” or casual plans like “Are you coming today?” These changes reflect how the group has matured together, moving from high-energy moments to a quieter, more thoughtful kind of support.

The members, however, never let him forget his clumsy side. RM laughed as he shared how the others constantly stop him from doing things that might end in chaos. From cooking to driving, he’s often told, “Namjoon, just stay still. Don’t worry, we will do it.” He said the phrase he hears the most is, “You did well, but don’t do anything,” which has become both a running joke and a sign of the group’s love for him.

Speaking directly to ARMY, RM expressed deep gratitude. He said the group doesn’t take their fans’ loyalty for granted and acknowledged the many ups and downs both sides have weathered together. To him, fans are the foundation that allows BTS to keep moving forward. “We can step out into the world once more to do something that’s still our greatest strength,” he said, highlighting the unshakable trust between the members and the people who have supported them since the beginning.
