BTS members Jimin and Jungkook have officially completed their military service, marking a major milestone in the group’s ongoing journey. The duo was discharged on the morning of June 11, 2025, after serving as active-duty soldiers in the Army’s 5th Infantry Division Artillery Brigade. Having enlisted together on December 12, 2023, their joint return to civilian life was met with an outpouring of love and celebration from fans around the world.
Following their discharge, Jimin and Jungkook appeared at the Yeoncheon Public Stadium in Gyeonggi Province, where they were warmly greeted by fans and media. While there was no formal event planned, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement and emotion. Later, the pair made their way back to HYBE headquarters, where J-Hope joined staff in throwing them a surprise welcome-back party. Videos shared online captured the joyous reunion, complete with balloons, music, and heartfelt laughter.
However, amidst the celebrations, Jimin’s thoughtful nature quickly came through. As more and more fans began to gather outside the HYBE building in hopes of catching a glimpse of the two idols, Jimin grew concerned. During a live broadcast later that day, both he and Jungkook expressed their appreciation but also gently urged ARMYs to prioritize their well-being, especially given the summer heat and cramped surroundings.
Jimin, always caring and mindful, went a step further by posting a message on Weverse. In his heartfelt note, he wrote, “Hello ARMY, it’s Jimin. I want to say thank you to all the ARMY who waited for today. I was really happy. I urgently need to ask you one very important favor.” He continued, “As I mentioned before, because the temperature outside is very high and it’s a narrow alley, a dangerous situation could arise… I sincerely thank you for coming to find me/coming here, but I would be so grateful if you could please go home today. Please.”
His message struck a chord with fans, who once again were reminded of how deeply BTS cares for their well-being—not just emotionally, but physically too. The sincerity of Jimin’s request and the duo’s continuous gratitude only strengthened the already unbreakable bond between BTS and ARMY.
As of now, the return of Jimin and Jungkook marks another major step toward the end of BTS’ group hiatus, which began in December 2022 due to mandatory military enlistments. RM and V were discharged just a day prior, and SUGA is set to complete his alternative service on June 21. This means that, for the first time in nearly two years, all seven BTS members will soon be together once again.
Although no official announcements have been made regarding their group comeback, the anticipation is palpable. For now, fans are soaking in the joy of their return, grateful not just for their service but for their continued love and care. Even after serving their country, Jimin and Jungkook remain devoted to the fans who stood by them every step of the way.
