The Denver Broncos’ season ended in the AFC Championship Game, and the team is already turning its focus to the offseason. One of the top priorities will be adding another wide receiver to complement Courtland Sutton and the young talent already on the roster.
ESPN’s Aaron Schatz predicts the Broncos will target Colts wideout Alec Pierce. Pierce is expected to earn an $80 million contract in free agency, according to Spotrac. Schatz notes that Pierce’s size, physicality, ability to block, and knack for winning contested catches make him a perfect fit for quarterback Bo Nix and Sean Payton’s offensive scheme.
Denver previously explored trading for Dolphins receiver Jaylen Waddle, showing the team’s interest in bolstering its passing attack. Pierce is coming off his best season, finishing with 1,003 yards and six touchdowns despite missing two games due to injury. He also led the NFL in yards per reception, proving himself as a top downfield threat.
Adding Pierce alongside Sutton would create a strong one-two punch, giving Nix another weapon and helping the Broncos take a step forward in 2026. While the Colts may want to retain Pierce, Denver could be a strong landing spot if he hits free agency.
