Brian Austin Green is finally breaking his silence on long-standing accusations that he groomed Megan Fox during the early days of their relationship. The actor, known for roles in Beverly Hills, 90210 and Beautiful Disaster, reflected on the controversy during a candid conversation on a recent episode of the Oldish podcast.
When co-host Sharna Burgess asked why he had never publicly addressed the accusations that have shadowed him for years, Green offered a calm and measured response rooted in logic and personal discipline.
“I think it comes from my dad,” he shared. “He’s very good at cutting emotion out of something and just being logical in his choices.”
Green explained that he approached the situation from a strategic mindset. He believed that defending himself once would lead to an endless cycle of explanations that would ultimately do little to change public perception.
“If I defend myself this one time, it’s never going to stop,” he said. “People are going to believe what they want to believe.”
Rather than getting caught in a back-and-forth, the actor chose silence—an emotionally difficult, but calculated, move. Green said he focused instead on letting time pass, hoping it would provide clarity and perspective both for him and those who had questions about the relationship.
“It’s the long game of it,” he admitted, suggesting that he hoped patience and time would bring balance to the emotional toll of being scrutinized.
For context, Brian Austin Green and Megan Fox met in 2004 while filming the sitcom Hope & Faith. At the time, Fox was 18 years old, and Green was 30—a 12-year age gap that has since drawn criticism and sparked speculation about the nature of their early relationship. The couple went public soon after, and despite an on-again-off-again dynamic, they married in 2010 and had three children together before officially ending things in 2020.
Though the relationship is now long behind them, and both have moved on—Fox is currently in a relationship with Machine Gun Kelly—Green’s recent comments offer a glimpse into how he internally coped with the controversy.
