With Blue Lock being one of the most anticipated anime series ever on a global OTT platform, it captures the fierce ambition and violent competitive nature of Japan’s top young strikers through their egos in a very dramatic manner as they participate in an intense competitive environment filled with extreme ambition and brutal competition to be the best strikers at the world’s most competitive football academies (training facilities).

Fans are extremely excited about Season 3, which will feature even more conflict based purely on one’s ego, new metavision breakthroughs, and continued rivalries with international superstars like Michael Kaiser while playing in intensely exciting matches as part of the Neo Egoist League arc following the culmination of Season 2 (2024).

Blue Lock Season 3: Release Details

Information from multiple sources indicates that the series will premiere on October 9, 2026, adapting the beginning of the Neo Egoist League arc. Some sources have also mentioned a broader timeframe for the series in 2026 (late in the year or aligned with production schedule); however, October 9, 2026, appears to be the consistent date from both fans and the media.

The studio is still Eight Bit (the same as in the previous seasons; no change has been announced).

Season 2 follows the relationship between the U-20 Japan team and their opponents, while Season 3 follows the U-20 Japan team’s performance from Season 2. There is also a live-action film set for release in theatres in Japan in Summer 2026 (around August) to coincide with the build-up to the FIFA World Cup.

There is no complete information available about either the number of episodes or the streaming platforms where the series will be available (which will likely be Crunchyroll and similar to prior seasons), or a complete trailer/visuals as of early 2026; however, more information will be forthcoming as we get closer to the premiere of Season 3.

Blue Lock Season 3: Cast Updates

The core Japanese voice cast from Seasons 1 and 2 is expected to return, as no major recasts have been announced:

  • Yoichi Isagi: Kazuki Ura
  • Meguru Bachira: Tasuku Kaito
  • Hyoma Chigiri: Sōma Saitō
  • Rensuke Kunigami: Yuichi Nakamura (or equivalent recurring)
  • Other key returnees include voices for Rin Itoshi, Shoei Baro, Ryusei Shido, and Jinpachi Ego.

New Cast Additions:

  • Michael Kaiser (a major antagonist/rival introduced toward the end of Season 2) is voiced by Mamoru Miyano (known for roles like Light Yagami in Death Note and Oikawa in Haikyuu!!). This was confirmed earlier and will be prominent in Season 3.

English dub cast (from prior seasons) is also likely to reprise roles, including Ricco Fajardo as Isagi, Drew Breedlove as Bachira, and others—no major updates or changes reported yet.

Additional international players and new rivals in the Neo Egoist League will introduce fresh voice actors as the arc progresses.

Blue Lock Season 3: Story

The Neo Egoist League arc will be included in Season 3. This is the content that follows the conclusion of the Blue Lock Project’s victory or significant results against the Japan U 20 Team (or the final chapter’s remaining arc from Chapter 152 Forward).

After Blue Lock beats (has a significant result playing against) the Japan U-20 team, the second phase of the Project begins. This is now a competition between the best players for the best teams looking to compete in the U-20 World Cup, but this is being staged as a competition of entertainment and training using the Blue Lock Project method.

The U-20 teams from around Europe (e.g., Bastard Munchen(Germany), Manshine City(England), FC Barcha(Spain), Ubers(Italy), and Paris X Gen(France)) are invited to participate in Blue Lock.” The Players must select which European-based team to enter into and can then train/play alongside that European-based team before competing against them in a league-style competition.

Ego-style battles, Tactical development of teams, Individual Metavision and Skill Adaptations, Rivalry Development with players (i.e., Isagi Vs Kaiser, Itoshi Brothers, Baro, Nagi, Reo, etc.). All while the pursuit of the world’s BEST STRIKER continues. High Flash-factor for European-based rivals, Development of egoist philosophical players, and Explosive Soccer mimicking Blue Lock Project’s physical and Mental Development.

The Neo Egoist League Arc is considered one of the most dynamic in the manga; this arc will take the series understanding of “EGO” and push it to the highest levels internationally, producing some of the most unique and sophisticated player performances.
