Blake Lively’s legal team strongly pushed back against accusations tied to Taylor Swift amid the ongoing dispute between Lively and Justin Baldoni. On May 14, Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, claimed that Lively’s lawyers pressured Swift’s legal team to publicly support Lively by issuing a formal statement. Freedman also alleged that Lively threatened to reveal private text messages if Swift’s side didn’t cooperate, according to reports from People.

In response, Lively’s attorney, Mike Gottlieb, firmly denied these claims, calling them “categorically false.” He described the allegations as baseless, coming from anonymous sources, and disconnected from reality. Gottlieb emphasized that these accusations lack any real evidence and criticized Baldoni’s legal team for making such false statements without proof.

The accusations reportedly appeared in a subpoena requesting records of communications, and Gottlieb said Lively’s side plans to file motions to hold Baldoni’s attorneys accountable for what they see as misconduct in court.

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift’s spokesperson quickly moved to clarify her position, stressing that Swift’s only connection to the movie It Ends With Us was licensing her song My Tears Ricochet for the soundtrack. They pointed out that Swift was on a massive global tour throughout 2023 and 2024 and barely had time to watch the film, only seeing it weeks after its release. The spokesperson made it clear that Swift wasn’t involved in the legal battle or the movie’s production.

The court case between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni is scheduled to begin in March 2026.
