The legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni has taken a significant turn, with recent reports indicating that the judge has dismissed Lively’s emotional distress claims. Judge Lewis Liman, who is overseeing the case, issued the ruling after extensive exchanges between the two sides. Previously, Baldoni’s legal team accused Lively of attempting to withdraw her lawsuit in order to avoid disclosing her medical records. In response, Lively’s attorneys clarified that she voluntarily dropped her emotional distress claims in good faith to simplify the litigation process and focus on the damages she expects to recover.
In his motion, Judge Liman made it clear that Lively cannot change her position regarding the disclosure of her medical records. He denied her request to dismiss the claims without prejudice unless she reaches an agreement with Baldoni’s team about how to proceed. Essentially, she must either agree to a dismissal with prejudice or have the court dismiss the claims without prejudice, but either way, she is barred from presenting any evidence related to emotional distress going forward.
This development marks a key moment in the ongoing case between the co-stars of It Ends With Us, which has been unfolding since December following the movie’s release. The ruling limits Lively’s ability to pursue certain aspects of her claims and may influence how the case proceeds from here.
