BLACKPINK is finally making real moves toward their long-awaited comeback, and fans couldn’t be more excited. The four-member girl group — Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa — have reportedly wrapped up filming a brand-new music video in Seoul, marking a huge step forward in their return to the spotlight. It’s been nearly three years since their last group comeback, and this update has given fans a big reason to celebrate.
According to a June 9 report by Xports News, the group spent last weekend on set, filming the visuals for their upcoming release. Shortly after, YG Entertainment confirmed the news, stating that the shoot began on June 6 and was led by a famous international director. While they haven’t revealed the song, concept, or release date just yet, YG promised that the new video would reflect BLACKPINK’s signature style and energy. For fans, this signals that the comeback is officially in progress.
This comeback will be BLACKPINK’s first group project since their last album, BORN PINK, which was released in September 2022. That album made headlines globally and set records for the group. Since then, the members have pursued solo projects, each under different agencies. However, they all renewed their group contract with YG Entertainment, and this new music will be the first to come out under that agreement — making it even more meaningful.
Adding to the excitement, BLACKPINK is also preparing for a massive world tour called “DEADLINE,” set to kick off in July at Goyang Stadium. While details about the full tour schedule are still under wraps, the group is expected to visit major cities around the world. Interestingly, there’s a gap in the tour between November and January, which has led fans to speculate that the break might be used for album promotions or other special activities tied to the comeback.
Even though the music video is finished and tour plans are underway, YG has not yet shared any teasers or promotional schedules. Everything from the tracklist to the title song is still being kept secret. Still, fans are hopeful that a pre-release single could drop as early as June, with a full album possibly arriving around September. With everything building up the way it is, BLACKPINK’s return is shaping up to be one of the biggest comebacks in K-pop this year.
