Billie Piper joins the world of Wednesday as Isadora Capri

This year has been big for Billie Piper. A lot of people know her as Rose Tyler from Doctor Who. That role made her a fan favorite, and her face recently popped up again after the Fifteenth Doctor’s regeneration. Nobody knows exactly how she fits into the new Doctor Who story yet, but fans are excited. In the meantime, she’s also stepped into the world of Nevermore Academy in Wednesday season two.

We don’t have to wait long to see who she’s playing. In the very first episode, we meet her character. Her name is Isadora Capri. She walks into a dark music room where Wednesday is playing the cello. Capri tells her that she’s the new head of music at the school. Wednesday already knows who she is. She remembers that Capri was a child music star who released her first classical album at just ten years old. Capri explains that she came to Nevermore after hearing about all the crazy stuff that happened last year.

She also gives Wednesday some pretty blunt feedback. She tells her that her music only sounds interesting because it’s full of pain. She wants Wednesday to stop trying to control everything and actually feel the music. But, of course, Wednesday doesn’t take that well.

Capri shows up a few more times in the first four episodes. And yes, we even get to hear Billie Piper sing again. A lot of people forget she used to be a pop star in the UK before becoming an actor. She sings the school song at the Founder’s Pyre and also performs another song at Camp Jericho in episode three.

Even though she’s around, her character isn’t a big part of the main plot. She’s not doing anything shady like Mrs. Thornhill did in season one. Wednesday does hide in her car’s trunk to sneak into an asylum, but Capri herself doesn’t seem involved in anything dangerous. She’s mostly just there to teach music and stay in her own world.

Still, something about her feels a little strange. She’s kind of mysterious and intense in her own way. Fans are wondering if she might end up being more important in the second half of the season. Maybe she has some secrets too. Maybe not. For now, she’s just an interesting new character with a cool energy.

Either way, it’s fun seeing Billie Piper in a weird and nerdy show again.
