Bill Belichick had a notably awkward moment during the Chiefs-Saints game on Monday when ESPN cameras focused on Taylor Swift celebrating another catch by her boyfriend, Travis Kelce. The former Patriots head coach, now engaged in various media appearances after his departure from the team in January, appeared on ESPN’s “ManningCast” with Eli and Peyton Manning.
Belichick let out an uncomfortable sigh as Swift cheered from the Kelce family suite at Arrowhead Stadium, leaving the Manning brothers to chuckle at the moment.

This reaction came with less than a minute left before halftime, while the Chiefs held a 13-7 lead. Belichick’s response was noted as he observed Kelce’s performance, who had a standout night in the absence of Chiefs wideout Rashee Rice, who is sidelined with a likely season-ending knee injury sustained in Week 4. “Big first half for Kelce,” Belichick remarked, adding, “Too big. Too big.”
Kelce finished the game with nine catches for a game-high 70 yards, marking a significant improvement after a slow start to the season. Belichick’s sigh, which some interpreted as a playful “ugh,” seemed directed at the three-time Super Bowl champion for his successful performance.
Interestingly, Belichick was seen wearing a Swift sweatshirt in a photo shared by his girlfriend, 23-year-old Jordon Hudson, on Instagram. Additionally, he reportedly attended one of Swift’s concerts in Amsterdam over the Fourth of July weekend.
The coach has previously expressed admiration for Swift, who has performed at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough multiple times. Meanwhile, the Chiefs improved to 5-0 after the victory and will have a week off before facing the 49ers (2-3) in a Super Bowl rematch on October 20.
