A German tech company called Northern Data AG is getting close to signing a deal with an Abu Dhabi company named G42. G42 works in artificial intelligence (AI) and wants to grow in Europe.
If the deal goes through, Northern Data will give G42’s cloud business, called Core42, access to a large part of its computer power. That includes about half of its 23,000 Nvidia GPUs. GPUs are strong computer chips used to train AI models and do heavy computer work.
This news comes from Bloomberg, which got the info from people who know about the talks. But they also said the deal is not final yet. Some parts are still being discussed.
Northern Data runs data centres, big buildings full of powerful computers, in countries like the USA, Sweden, Norway, and Portugal. The company used to help cryptocurrency miners, but now they are focusing more on AI. That’s because AI needs a lot of computing power, and more and more companies want it.
This move shows how fast the AI world is growing and how companies are trying to keep up by changing their plans.
