Benny Blanco recently caught fans by surprise during an interview on Australian television when he revealed some unexpected details about his wedding plans with fiancée Selena Gomez. Appearing on the Today show with host Richard Wilkins, the music producer shared that while Ed Sheeran has already RSVP’d to their wedding, the couple has yet to set a date or send out any official invitations. Benny joked, “Eventually Ed will come to our wedding, when we do have one, but unfortunately we have not scheduled one yet – but we will!”
Since their engagement in December, life has been going wonderfully for Benny and Selena, especially following the release of their first collaborative album, I Said I Love You First, which premiered on the radio earlier this year. Benny, whose real name is Benjamin Joseph Levin, explained that creating the album wasn’t part of any elaborate plan. Instead, it began as a fun, spontaneous project in their home, with one song naturally leading to another. He described working with Selena as a true joy, even joking that it’s better than working with anyone else because, at the end of the day, he also gets to kiss her.
Regarding Ed Sheeran’s attendance, Benny made headlines by confirming that Ed would be at their wedding, despite no concrete plans being made yet. He simply told Ed that a wedding would happen, and Ed said he’d be there. When host Richard Wilkins teased that most couples plan their wedding after getting engaged, Benny responded with a laugh, explaining that for them, making music together came first, naturally taking priority over the usual wedding preparations.
