On Thursday evening, the Rare Impact Fund Benefit: A Night of Radiance & Reflection brought together an array of star power to support Selena Gomez’s mental health initiative, with her boyfriend and renowned music producer Benny Blanco emerging as the evening’s highest bidder. Held at Nya Studios West in Los Angeles, the annual event saw industry giants, celebrities, and advocates bidding enthusiastically on auction items, ultimately contributing to the Rare Impact Fund’s mission to expand access to mental health services.
Benny Blanco did the highest bid:
Blanco, who has been publicly dating Gomez since late 2023, attended the event alongside Gomez’s family and inner circle, underscoring his commitment to both her cause and their relationship. Throughout the night, he actively engaged in the spirited auction, which featured high-value items ranging from luxury getaways to exclusive experiences.
One of the most competitive items was a five-night stay at an exclusive villa in western Mexico, courtesy of Airbnb. Blanco’s determination to secure this luxurious getaway fueled a tense bidding war, with Blanco’s No. 5 paddle regularly raised as he contested other bidders. His persistence paid off, winning him the villa stay with an impressive $25,000 bid—the evening’s highest. Beyond his enthusiasm for the event, Blanco’s high bid reflected his personal commitment to Gomez’s cause and his support for mental health advocacy.
In addition to the coveted villa retreat, Blanco donated his own exclusive experience to the auction: a virtual cooking class with himself and “The Bear” actor and chef Matty Matheson. This unique item quickly gained interest, with bidding climbing to $7,500 before it was claimed. Blanco later demonstrated his dedication further by committing an additional $20,000 to the Rare Impact Fund, ensuring that his support would make a meaningful impact.
The benefit, emceed by actor Billy Crudup and featuring performances by Karol G and Teddy Swims, also saw competitive bids on a design consultation with celebrity designer Kelly Wearstler, ultimately secured by YouTube beauty icon Jackie Aina with a $10,000 bid.
Founded by Gomez four years ago, the Rare Impact Fund has since become a leading philanthropic force in the mental health space, raising awareness and expanding resources for underserved communities. With Blanco’s top bid and other contributions from industry figures, the benefit reaffirmed the entertainment world’s dedication to Gomez’s mission.
