Ben Affleck has sparked curiosity after wearing a wedding ring in Los Angeles, especially given his highly publicized divorce from Jennifer Lopez. However, fans shouldn’t jump to conclusions just yet.
The 52-year-old actor and director was recently spotted wearing the ring while on set for his new Netflix project, Animals, where he plays a married man running for mayor. Production insiders confirmed that the ring is simply part of his costume for the role, not a sign of his personal life.
According to sources close to People, Affleck is not only acting but also producing the film. One insider shared, “He’s both acting and producing. He’s always great to work with… Filming just kicked off, but it’s been great so far. Ben’s been in a great mood and super fun to work with.”
Affleck is taking on triple duties with Animals as he writes, directs, and stars in the film—marking his first project in all three roles since Air in 2023. He stars alongside Kerry Washington, who plays his on-screen wife. The film also features a star-studded supporting cast, including Gillian Anderson, Steven Yeun, Adriana Paz, Christopher Woodley, and Ray Fisher.
Production for Animals began on March 7, and sources have revealed that Affleck has been in high spirits throughout the shoot. The film is being produced by Artists Equity, the production company co-founded by Affleck and longtime friend Matt Damon. Damon was initially set to star in the film but had to drop out due to a scheduling conflict with Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey. Despite his absence, production has been running smoothly.
While Netflix hasn’t officially announced the plot or release date for Animals, it will be Affleck’s second film with the streaming service. This fall, he and Damon will also appear together in RIP, a crime drama about corrupt Miami police discovering millions in drug money.
Meanwhile, Jennifer Lopez is keeping busy with her own project. The 55-year-old actress and singer is currently filming Office Romance in New Jersey. She’s reportedly enjoying the East Coast experience and looking forward to the movie’s release.
Despite the legal drama surrounding their recent divorce, it seems both Affleck and Lopez are focusing on their work and staying busy in their respective careers.
