Ben Affleck, often dubbed Hollywood’s most eligible bachelor, recently shared his thoughts on the playful title—and his taste in women—during a candid encounter in West Hollywood.
The 52-year-old actor was spotted leaving Lavo Ristorante on Thursday, May 8, when a TMZ reporter greeted him in Spanish, calling him “Hollywood’s most eligible bachelor.” Affleck responded with a laugh and a confident “Muy bien” (“very good”), showing off his fluency in Spanish.
When asked if he still likes dating Latinas, Affleck didn’t hesitate to say, “Of course I do,” again responding in Spanish. The remark echoes his past relationships with two high-profile Latina women: his ex-wife Jennifer Lopez and former girlfriend Ana de Armas.
Affleck and Lopez’s romance has been one of Hollywood’s most talked-about love stories. They first met in 2002 on the set of Gigli, quickly got engaged, but ended their relationship in 2004. In a surprise twist, the pair rekindled their romance in 2021, became engaged again, and tied the knot in Las Vegas in July 2022. However, their marriage didn’t last, and they filed for divorce in August 2024, which was finalized in January 2025.
In a recent interview with GQ, Affleck opened up about the end of their marriage, emphasizing it was free of drama. “There’s no scandal, no soap opera, no intrigue,” he said. “The truth is, when you talk to somebody, ‘Hey, what happened?’ Well, there is no, ‘This is what happened.’ It’s just a story about people trying to figure out their lives and relationships in ways that we all sort of normally do.”
Affleck also praised Lopez during the premiere of his latest film, The Accountant 2, last month. He described her as “spectacular” and said she has a great relationship with his children. “I adore her,” he added, calling her “an enormously important person in my life.
