The Baldur’s Gate 3 journey continues with the much-anticipated Patch 5, signaling a major milestone in the game’s post-launch evolution. This update, packed with fresh content and improvements, brings excitement and anticipation for both existing players and those awaiting the physical console release.

This update adds an intriguing “final goodbye” in the form of an epilogue, boasting intricate writing that promises to offer closure or an extended conclusion to the game.

Patch 5 introduces two new game modes. Honour Mode brings additional challenges for players seeking tougher gameplay experiences, while Custom Mode offers players the freedom to customize various gameplay elements according to their preferences.

The patch comes with substantial content, requiring a download of around 30 GB. After installation, the total game size reaches an impressive 130 GB, indicating the wealth of new features and enhancements.

Larian Studios announced that the physical version of Baldur’s Gate 3 for Xbox Series X/S will ship with Patch 5 included on the disc. Meanwhile, details about the PS5 physical edition, expected in early 2024, remain undisclosed. Following its massive success since launch, Baldur’s Gate 3 secured eight nominations at the 2023 Game Awards. Notable nominations include Game of the Year, Best RPG, Best Score, and Best Performance for Neil Newbon’s portrayal of Astarion. The game aims to translate its success into multiple accolades at the awards show.
