A$AP Rocky recently opened up about the emotional high of jumping straight into Rihanna’s arms after being found not guilty in his high-profile three-week trial. The rapper was acquitted of gun assault charges related to a 2021 Hollywood altercation, a verdict that spared him from a potentially decades-long prison sentence.
During a candid interview with Variety while promoting his upcoming film Highest 2 Lowest—a Spike Lee-directed remake of Akira Kurosawa’s High and Low—Rocky recounted the unforgettable courtroom moment. He described his overwhelming relief and joy, saying he was eager to leave the courtroom and be with his family, who had been there for support.
“Being happy and wanting to get the f*ck out of that building,” Rocky said.
The rapper and Fenty Beauty mogul Rihanna, who first collaborated musically in 2012, have since become a power couple and parents to two children, RZA and Riot, with a third child expected soon. Rihanna showcased her baby bump in a striking Marc Jacobs ensemble at the 2025 Met Gala, where Rocky also expressed excitement about their growing family and creative ventures.
“It feels amazing. It’s time that we show the people what we were cooking up. And I’m glad everybody’s happy for us ’cause we’re definitely happy, you know,” Rocky shared.
Highest 2 Lowest stars Denzel Washington alongside Rocky and will have a limited theatrical release on August 22 via A24 before streaming on Apple TV+.
