Arielle Kebbel and Zach Roerig, stars of The Vampire Diaries, have confirmed their offscreen romance with a sweet public display of affection. The couple appeared together at the I Was Feeling Epic 3 fan convention in Covington, Georgia, on April 6, where they shared a kiss in front of fans. A fan video of the moment, which captured Roerig walking up to Kebbel with a bouquet before the kiss, quickly went viral. Kebbel even responded to the post in the comments with three red heart emojis, signaling her affection.

While their characters didn’t share much screen time in The Vampire Diaries, the two recently worked together in a Hallmark movie, Love in the Great Smoky Mountains: A National Park Romance (2023), where they played romantic leads. In the film, their characters, Haley and Rob, reconnect while working on an excavation project in the mountains, rekindling a past love. This collaboration sparked fan speculation about their relationship, and the couple’s appearance at the fan convention confirmed their romance.

In The Vampire Diaries, Kebbel played Lexi Branson, a 350-year-old vampire and close friend to Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley), while Roerig portrayed Matt Donovan, Elena Gilbert’s first love and the show’s human anchor. Though their characters didn’t have significant interactions, their offscreen chemistry has captured fans’ attention.

Their romance follows the trend of TVD castmates finding love offscreen, with Candice King and Steven Krueger confirming their relationship in December 2023 and Joseph Morgan marrying Persia White in 2014. Roerig has also been previously linked to Candice Accola (now Candice King). Kebbel currently stars in Rescue: HI Surf on FOX, while Roerig is set to appear in The Waterfront, a new Netflix series debuting on June 19.
