Apple has released iOS 26.1, and the main change is a new setting for its Liquid Glass look. Many users had complained that the text and icons were hard to read after iOS 26 came out. To fix that, Apple added a simple toggle that lets people control how clear or foggy their screen looks.
Now, you can pick between two styles. One keeps the see-through design that looks sleek, and the other adds a soft frosted effect. The new look makes buttons, tabs, and words stand out more clearly. It’s all about making the screen easier on the eyes.
The update doesn’t stop there. Apple has packed iOS 26.1 with a bunch of small but useful improvements. AirPods now support live translation in more languages like Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Italian. Apple Music has a new MiniPlayer that lets you swipe to skip songs, and AutoMix can now play through AirPlay.
If you record audio, you’ll notice new gain controls for USB microphones and better file-saving options. The Fitness app now lets you manually log your workouts. There’s also a new setting that can turn off the swipe-to-camera option from the Lock Screen if you want more privacy.
FaceTime works better in weak internet connections, and Apple’s parental controls have been tightened. Kids aged 13 to 17 will automatically have safety filters and adult content blocks turned on.
Apple also rolled out updates for all its other devices, including iPads, Macs, Apple Watches, Vision Pro, and Apple TV. So, everything stays in sync no matter what device you use.
