The movie Another Simple Favor is back and fans couldn’t be more excited! The new film brings fresh twists and turns with Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively returning as Stephanie Smothers and Emily Nelson, just like before.
In this sequel, Stephanie (played by Anna Kendrick) is really excited about her new book, which talks about everything that happened in her life after meeting Emily. But the problem is, the book isn’t getting much attention, and Stephanie is hoping for a big publicity boost to help it succeed.
Then, Emily (played by Blake Lively) suddenly shows up — and she’s out of prison way earlier than anyone expected. She tells Stephanie that she’s engaged and planning to get married in beautiful Capri, Italy. Emily even asks Stephanie to be her maid of honor, which is a sweet gesture.
Stephanie politely says no, but then Emily blackmails her to join the wedding. Instead of feeling trapped, Stephanie realizes this might be the perfect chance to get the publicity she’s been hoping for. So, she decides to be part of the wedding, and that’s when things really start to get wild and unpredictable.
We soon learn that Emily’s fiancé, Dante Versano, is a wealthy man from a family with old money. Other characters also come back, like Sean Townsend (played by Henry Golding), who is Emily’s son, and Dante’s mother, Portia Versano. Emily also brings her own family members to the wedding, including her mother Margaret and Aunt Linda.
Things take a dark turn quickly. Early in the movie, Sean Townsend is mysteriously murdered. We see a chilling scene where Sean is in the shower and someone he knows injects a deadly drug into his finger, causing him to bleed from his eyes, nose, ears, and mouth—leading to his death.
If you remember from the first movie, Emily had a twin sister named Faith. Emily had killed Faith and faked her own death by pretending to be Faith, which allowed her to disappear for a while.
But here’s a new twist: Emily and Faith were actually triplets, not just twins. The third sibling died during birth. However, in this sequel, it’s revealed that Aunt Linda secretly took the third baby, named Charity, and raised her in Italy. Charity then pretends to be Emily, kills Sean Townsend, and takes control of the Versano family fortune.
The movie is full of surprises and keeps the audience on the edge of their seats with its mix of mystery, drama, and dark humor.
