SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA — Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz, founders of the venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, have informed their employees of their intention to make substantial donations to political action committees supporting Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, CNBC has confirmed.

The Information was the first to report on the anticipated donations, which align with Trump’s proposed technology policies.

These high-profile investors join other tech industry figures who have contributed to Trump’s campaign. Joe Lonsdale, co-founder of Palantir, along with crypto billionaires Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, have made contributions to America PAC, a recently established committee. Tesla CEO Elon Musk has also reportedly committed to pledging around $45 million monthly to the super PAC. Additionally, venture capitalist David Sacks, who spoke at the Republican National Convention’s opening night, co-hosted a Trump fundraiser in San Francisco.

Founded in 2009, Andreessen Horowitz has invested in numerous notable companies, including OpenAI, Facebook, Airbnb, Anduril, Box, DoorDash, and GitHub.

Although the firm’s founders have not issued formal endorsements for the 2024 election, Andreessen has a history of critiquing Silicon Valley’s predominantly left-leaning stance. Despite this, he supported Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in 2016, expressing his endorsement with the tweet, “I’m with her.”
