Amazon has launched an AI-powered video generator, aimed at enhancing advertisers’ ability to create promotional content with minimal effort. Announced at Amazon’s Accelerate conference, the new tool is designed to transform a single product image into a brief video clip, streamlining the video creation process for advertisers. Currently available in beta for select U.S. advertisers, the tool is part of Amazon’s broader push to integrate generative AI into its advertising platform.

The new Video generator can process a static image and, within minutes, produce a video lasting a few seconds—suitable for use in digital advertising. While the tool is limited in its current capabilities, Amazon plans to fine-tune the feature based on user feedback and expand its functionality before rolling it out more broadly to advertisers.

Jay Richman, Vice President of Amazon Ads, described the Video generator as a significant step in leveraging generative AI to enhance creativity and provide greater value for both advertisers and shoppers. Richkman in his statement said that Amazon’s video generator is another meaningful tool that leverages generative AI to inspire creativity and deliver more value for both advertisers as well as shoppers.

Though the tool is in its early stages, Amazon’s move mirrors a similar initiative from Google, which also released a video generator targeting advertisers. By introducing this tool, Amazon is looking to simplify content creation for sellers and brands, helping them engage more effectively with their audiences through dynamic, multimedia ads.

As digital advertising increasingly shifts toward video content, tools like Amazon’s Video generator could provide smaller businesses and advertisers without extensive resources a competitive edge. The company has not yet provided a timeline for the wider release, but the tool’s expansion is expected to follow after the beta testing phase.
