‘Alien Nation’ star Gary Graham dies at 73

Gary Graham, the actor renowned for his role as the human detective in the Fox sci-fi series Alien Nation, passed away at the age of 73. The cause of death was cardiac arrest, as confirmed by his wife of almost 25 years, Becky Graham. Gary Graham had a diverse acting career, making notable contributions to the Star Trek universe and appearing in films such as Hardcore (1979) and All the Right Moves (1983).

In the Star Trek franchise, Graham portrayed Tanis on Star Trek: Voyager (1995), Ambassador Soval on Star Trek: Enterprise (2001-05), and the first officer Ragnar in Star Trek: Of Gods and Men (2007) and Star Trek: Renegades (2015-17). His versatility as an actor was evident in his portrayal of different characters within the sci-fi genre.

One of Graham’s prominent roles was as L.A. detective Matthew Sikes in the Alien Nation series, where he partnered with Eric Pierpoint’s character, George Francisco, an extraterrestrial newcomer. The show aired for a season (1989-90) on Fox and spawned several telefilms, including Alien Nation: Dark Horizon (1994) and Alien Nation: The Udara Legacy (1997). The series originated from the 1988 Alien Nation movie, featuring James Caan and Mandy Patinkin.
