Love and artistry were the central themes at the 98th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade as Alex Warren performed his wedding-inspired ballad “Carry You Home” in Manhattan on Nov. 28. The 24-year-old singer captivated the audience from the Kinder Workshop-in-the-Clouds float, delivering an emotional rendition of the track that he originally penned for his wife, Kouvr Annon.
Alex Warren’s captivating Thanksgiving performance:
NBC co-host Savannah Guthrie introduced Warren as “fresh off his global tour,” setting the stage for a memorable moment in the parade’s star-studded lineup. Accompanying his performance were New York City Ballet principal dancers Tiler Peck and Roman Mejia, who recently announced their engagement on Sept. 15. Their graceful choreography brought a romantic and ethereal dimension to the love ballad, underscoring its heartfelt theme.
“Carry You Home,” released in May 2024, served as a deeply personal wedding song for Warren and Annon’s June nuptials. The accompanying music video, shared that same month, offered fans an intimate glimpse into the couple’s big day. “This night felt like a fairy tale,” Warren reflected in the video’s YouTube caption. “I imagined this day my entire life, but it was so much better than I could ever imagine.”
Warren joined an illustrious roster of performers at this year’s parade, including Broadway icons, chart-topping recording artists, influencers, and Hollywood stars. Highlights included appearances by Ariana Madix, Idina Menzel, Charli D’Amelio, and Billy Porter. The annual event, known for its vibrant floats and larger-than-life balloons, continues to draw millions of viewers nationwide.
Ahead of his performance, Warren expressed his excitement about being part of such an iconic tradition. “I grew up watching this, so the fact that I’m now going to be able to be in it is a dream come true,” he told PEOPLE.
